Mechanism Dance Theatre is a movement collective based out of Pomona California. The members come from various movement and scholarship backgrounds, have interests in interdisciplinary dance projects, and each of them is a choreographer/artist/creator in their own right. They use improvisation, experimentation, narrative, research and discourse to build works that illuminate social realities and challenge conventional perspectives in modern dance. Mechanism's core values depend on inclusion, attention to research, a willingness to cross disciplines, and a legacy of mentorship.
